Duty Death: Toshio Hirai - [Gardena]

GARDENA, Calif. — A Gardena police officer died Thursday of injuries received in a motorcycle crash the day before, ODMP reported.
Offer Toshio Hirai, 34, was headed to work when his motorcycle was struck by a car.
Hirai was a 12-year veteran of the department, where he served on the SWAT team as well as on the traffic investigation unit.
“We are deeply heartbroken today,” the Gardena Police wrote in a Facebook post.
He is survived by his wife and two-year-old son.
