Duty Death: Scotty Triplett - [Memphis]

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Memphis Police Department is mourning Officer Scotty Triplett, who was killed in a crash Saturday.
Triplett was riding his department motorcycle when a car made a left turn into his path, police said on Facebook. Triplett, 47, was in emergency mode on an official escort at the time.
Triplett was taken to a hospital, where he later died of his injuries. He was a 27-year veteran of the department. Triplett is survived by his wife and two children.
The driver was detained and no charges were immediately filed. The investigation is ongoing.
