Following news of the incident late last month in Santa Rosa (Calif.) that left a 13-year-old boy fatally shot, we’ve renewed the conversation about “toy” guns. During this discussion I received from one Police1 member the picture below.
According to the email thread — and I have no reason whatsoever to disbelieve this string — this rifle was seen at a range in Conroe, Texas. It appears to be a Ruger 10/22 wrapped up in the body of a NERF “toy.”
“A couple of guys showed up with this 22LR dressed up like a Nerf Gun,” the email advised. “It was fully functional and was seen being fired.”
Check out the picture and give some consideration to how you’d have to respond to an individual holding such a “toy.”
