LAWTON, Okla. — Two law officers were shot and wounded and a drug suspect killed during a raid this morning in Lawton.
No names have been released.
Lawton Police Chief Ronnie Smith says an Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics agent and an agent with the district attorney’s drug task force were wounded but the injuries don’t appear life-threatening. He says one was shot in the hand and the other in the side.
Narcotics bureau spokesman Mark Woodward says the agents were serving a warrant on a long-time methamphetamine suspect shortly before 7 am when the gunfire began.
Woodward says the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation will investigate the shooting.
