Video: Knife-wielding man lunges at cops in fatal Ohio airport OIS
Detective wrote that suspect's behavior was “consistent with someone who intended to hijack an aircraft”

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Surveillance video has been released in the fatal January shooting of a man who lunged at officers with a knife.
On Friday, a grand jury declined to bring charges against the officers involved in the shooting, the Columbus Dispatch reported.
41-year-old Hashim Abdul-Rasheed, who had a history of mental illness, was killed January 7 by Port Columbus airport Officers Hussein Hartman and Ryan Ward.
Abdul-Rasheed had attempted to purchase a ticket to a flight using a female ID, which initiated police contact.
Investigators did not release a motive for Abdul-Rasheed’s behavior, but a detective wrote in January that it was, “consistent with someone who intended to hijack an aircraft,” according to the report.
