COBB COUNTY, Ga. — Body camera video shows the moment officers were able to rescue a 4-year-old boy trapped alone in a car in 83-degree heat, FOX 5 reported.

Police were sent to check on children reportedly roaming the neighborhood by themselves when they saw the boy in the car. Officer Ryan Eustace instructed his trainee, Officer Rama, to knock on the door of the house, according to the report.

When no one answered the door, the officers gestured to the boy to get away from the front passenger window. They broke the window and helped the boy out of the minivan.

“He was visibly shaken. He was crying and screaming. His cheeks were red. Had sweat on him,” Eustace said. “It probably would’ve been a worst-case scenario.”

According to the report, the mother’s boyfriend was arrested on two counts of child cruelty following the incident.
