NEW ORLEANS — A New Orleans police officer fell ill and died on duty early Sunday.
According to The Advocate, 43-year-old Officer Bryan Bordes began having stomachaches and suffered a seizure. He requested medical attention, but was pronounced dead as EMS workers attempted to treat him.
The cause of death has yet to be determined. An autopsy will be performed.
The officer joined the department in 1997.
