Officers Jesse Hempen and David McKeown were shot February 27 by a suspect who also shot and killed their colleague, Ashley Guindon. It was Guindon’s first day on the job, according to the Washington Post.

A moment of silence was held for Guindon and other first responders recently killed in the line of duty, including Officers Jacai Colson, Noah Leotta and Brennan Rabain, and Fire Lt. Kevin McRae.
