1. Where did your company name originate from?
OAM Solutions (the parent company) is a company that produces odor eliminating products. The company’s products contain a proprietary odor elimination technology we developed, which we call Odor Absorbing Molecules (OAM). This technology is completely safe and incredibly effective. Arrest My Vest is our first product, which is designed for the odor elimination needs of the military and law enforcement.
2. What was the inspiration behind starting your company?
Paul Anderson, president and founder, is a chemical engineer and spent the bulk of his career with Procter and Gamble, the developer of Febreze. He became a technical master of odor eliminating technology in addition to being a successful executive at P&G.
After several years in development of the odor elimination technology, Paul and his wife, Becky, were faced with a situation in which the power went out at a vacation home in the hot desert of the Palm Springs, California area. Upon entering the property after the power had gone out, they were confronted with a horrible odor coming from the kitchen. The freezer’s power had been out and it was full of frozen food. After trying all available products they could find without success in removing horrible odors, they called back to the corporate office and had them send a few bottles of the odor eliminating spray with OAM.
One application of the spray completely eliminated all the odors. This real-life situation made them both convinced their new product really worked.
3. What is your signature product and how does it work?
The Arrest My Vest spray product is the best odor eliminating product available and it does its job without using any harmful chemicals. The proprietary technology identifies odor molecules, bonds with them in such a way that they become odorless. The graphic below illustrates this:
4. Why do you believe your products are essential to the law enforcement community?
Odors in bulletproof vests, with K9’s, gloves, vehicles are a continuing big problem in law enforcement. Arrest My Vest eliminates these on contact. It has consistently been rated as the best product for odor elimination for police gear on Amazon, averaging a 4.7 star rating.
5. What has been the biggest challenge your company has faced?
The biggest challenge, once the technology was developed, was marketing this new product into the law enforcement and corrections community. This is still our biggest challenge.
6. What makes your company unique?
We have developed this technology, and self-manufacture the product in our own manufacturing plant in Utah.
7. What do your customers like best about you and your products?
It is incredibly effective and safe to use on themselves and their K9’s.
8. What is the most rewarding part of serving the first responder community?
We know we are helping make the lives better for the officers and their families. No longer do they have to leave their vests in the garage when they come home after shift.
9. Do you support any charitable organizations within public safety? Tell us more.
We have supported various sheriff’s departments throughout the U.S. with charitable contributions.
10. Is there any fun fact or trivia that you’d like to share about you or your company?
Our product works so well it even eliminates skunk. Our products don’t mask the odor; they completely eliminate it, hence why we have an unscented version. Once our OAM touches the odor, it’s gone.
11. What’s next for your company? Any upcoming new projects or initiatives?
We are continuing to look to find and solve other problems in the odor elimination area.
