Terry Stop Position Change

I work in a drug/prostitution area where I make numerous terry stop interviews with possible suspects. I have found that it really throws possible criminals off and adds a slight advantage to me if I change positions frequently during the interview. After about twenty seconds or so I will take a few steps to the right or left and repeat this process throughout the interview. This interrupts the suspect’s possible attack and/or escape plan by making him start his planning process over. It is important that you are allowed to move around but the suspect is not. Also, I found that if you have a nervous suspect looking away from you in a particular direction he is usually “telegraphing” the direction he is going to run.
