Tenn. Workplace Shooting; Gunman Kills Man, Himself

Friday, a gunman opened fire at Electric Picture Company, 2844 Logan Street, in south Nashville, killing the company’s co-owner before committing suicide. The man had entered the building in S. Nashville carrying a shotgun and a pistol and began firing

Nashville Police responded to the incident fearing a possible hostage situation. SWAT team members located the gunman dead inside a restroom several hours after the incident began. He killed himself.

The gunman, Thomas Harrison, 44, Nashville, entered the building between 11-11:30 a.m. looking for his ex-girlfriend, who worked at the business.

Harrison was arrested and charged June 3 with rape and aggravated kidnapping of the woman.

Griffith was killed when he confronted Harrison.

There were 19 people in the building at the time of the shooting. Several of them escaped before police arrived. Police cleared the rest of the people a short time later.

The woman the gunman was looking for was able to escape the business.

The company rents video production and lighting equipment.
