MANCHESTER, England- British police said Thursday they had arrested one person under the Terrorism Act and were searching a house in connection with a terror investigation.
Greater Manchester Police would not say whether the arrest, in the Cheetham Hill area of the city, was connected to an alleged plot to bomb trans-Atlantic airliners.
In a statement, the force said the arrest was “in connection with an ongoing investigation and has been carried out acting on intelligence.”
No armed officers were involved in the arrest, which took place Wednesday, a police spokesman said.
No other details were immediately available.
