2 dead, gunman in custody in SF shop shooting

The gunman surrendered when officers approached him from both sides

SAN FRANCISCO — A gunman opened fire Friday, killing two bystanders at the San Francisco GiftCenter & JewelryMart and exchanging gunfire with police as officers responded to a trouble call.

According to KTVU, the alleged gunman opened fire at pursuing officers and then ran into a nearby building covered in blood. He then fired on officers a second time before surrendering to police.

Businesses in the area were locked down as police searched for the gunman.
