Ariz. police arrest suspect in burglary, officer assault

PHOENIX, Ariz. — Phoenix police captured a man suspected of assaulting a police officer and then hiding out in a large warehouse.

A police dog helped apprehend the suspect, Alejandro Vosquez, as he holed up in a building at 2525 N. 27th Ave. He was arrested on assault and drug charges. He also has an outstanding misdemeanor warrant, police said.

Police said Vosquez was involved in a 9 a.m. Sunday burglary in the 6200 block of West Thomas Road. Police said he assaulted an officer. Police then used a Taser stun gun to try to stop him. The suspect dropped a large quantity of methamphetamine as he fled, police said.
