Pictures of the Concealment Pockets
Riverside County, Calif. Sheriff’s Department recently arrested a man wearing in a thick, baggy sweatshirt; “hidden compartments” were found after close inspection. Hidden within the bulky, hooded sweatshirt were two pockets that could easily be overlooked even during the most vigilant of searches.
One of the hidden pockets was located inside the front pouch and the other was located at the neck of the sweatshirt underneath the tag. The pocket under the label has a Velcro closure at the top to keep its contents secure. The pocket at the neck of the sweatshirt is the perfect size for a handcuff key or a small blade. In short, this is the perfect outfit for carrying illegal drugs and/or weapons while appearing to stay warm on a cold winter’s day.
The sweatshirt was made by “Triple Five Soul NYC”. A number of clothing companies have begun manufacturing and selling extra baggy clothing that has hidden pockets for obscuring contraband. When searching suspects, keep in mind the possibility of these pockets and that they could be hiding weapons and/or contraband.
