Florida: Prime Suspect In Detective’s Death In Custody. 21-Year-Old Arrested, Not Yet Charged. Police recovered an AK-47 at the crime scene.

Related: Mistaken identity a theory in officer’s death. A Miami police detective was shot and killed in his unmarked car while off duty. He is the fifth South Florida law enforcement officer shot dead since November 2006.

Smith told the dispatcher he’d been stabbed in the heart and needed police to come out. When deputies got to Smith’s home, they say he was holding the rifle and screaming.
