CARNATION, Wash. — The bodies of six people have been found at a rural property east of Seattle, King County sheriff’s detectives said Wednesday.
The victims include males and females, said sheriff’s Detective Bob Conner. He would not give their ages, cause of death or other details. He said police did not know whether the killer or killers were among the dead.
“That we don’t know,” he said. “We’re not ruling out murder-suicide.”
Conner said officers and a sheriff’s helicopter were searching the area to determine whether there might be other victims, and insisted that there was no danger to anyone else living in the area.
Asked to explain, he said, “You have to take my word for it.”
The property includes a house and a mobile home at the end of a dirt road, part of a cluster of other rural properties near this town about 21 miles east of Seattle.
Sheriff’s Sgt. Jim Laing said the bodies were discovered about 8 a.m. by someone who knows the people living there and was checking on them. Laing said the dead appeared to include at least two adults and a child.
The property is part of a cluster of residences on the edge of woods. Conner would not say whether the bodies were discovered inside or outside of the structures.
As investigators searched the property, they removed a black pickup truck.
