(LOS ANGELES) -- Police arrested a 17-year-old high school student last week after he allegedly shot at them while attempting to avoid arrest.
Police responded to a call of a disturbance involving juveniles at John Muir Middle School at about 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 15, according to the Los Angeles Times
When officers tried to question the group, the suspect, whose name was not released because he is a minor, ran away.
When officers pursued the boy he turned and fired one round from a chrome, .25 caliber automatic pistol, police told the Times.
The teenager then dropped the weapon and was arrested without incident, police said.
