CINCINNATI — A video posted on YouTube by Cincinnati police is going viral after it showed a heroic rescue, WKRC reported.
Sgt. James Givens and Specialist Cecilia Charron were in their cruiser on Monday when a goose approached and pecked at the door, Givens told WKRC. Officers eventually followed the bird and found her gosling tangled in balloon string.
“It kept pecking and pecking and normally they don’t come near us,” he said. “Then it walked away and then it stopped and looked back, so I followed it and it led me right over to the baby.”
The officers called SPCA but no one was immediately available, so they took matters into their own hands. Charron was able to untangle the baby and it ran off happily into the water with its mom.
“It was like they communicated,” Givens said. “I always thought that they were afraid of people and people say they will attack you if you get close to their young’uns and I was just surprised.”
The YouTube video garnered over 99,000 views.
