HALIFAX, Va. — A police department in Virginia recently lent a hand in helping drivers cool off on a hot summer day.
According to KTLA, Halifax Police Chief Kevin Lands and Officer Brian Warner gave out cones to unsuspecting drivers after informing them that they were in violation of driving in the heat without the sweet treat – what they coined “Vehicle code 1739.”
The officers pulled over around 20 drivers on July 29 for the community outreach program, WSET reported.
One stop was posted to the department’s Facebook page and garnered over seven million views.
