NEW YORK — An off-duty Bronx cop was stabbed at his Queens apartment yesterday — but investigators believe the wounds might have been self-inflicted, sources told The Post.
Five-year veteran Officer Rishi Gobin, 34, claimed he was attacked by two robbers, police said.
The 42nd Precinct officer was in and out of consciousness at Jamaica Hospital yesterday, and listed in stable condition with a wound to the right side.
The Internal Affairs Bureau has taken over the probe and a law-enforcement source said Gobin’s injuries were consistent with self-inflicted wounds.
“They did a cursory examination. It doesn’t appear any vital organs were struck,” Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said outside the hospital.
Video surveillance on the street didn’t show anyone fleeing, sources said.
