LOS ANGELES -- Netflix has released a new documentary detailing the enduring mystery surrounding the Zodiac Killer, focusing on Arthur Leigh Allen, the only suspect police have publicly named, Forbes reported.
“This Is the Zodiac Speaking” is a three-part series that centers on the Seawater family, who knew Allen as a father figure during their childhood and now believe he was the killer, according to the report.
“We realized we had been to all the murder sites before the murders,” David Seawater recalls in the trailer.

The documentary also includes interviews with several of Allen’s former students, surviving friends of the Zodiac’s victims and local TV reporter Rita Williams, who conducted Allen’s last interview before his death in the early 1990s, according to the report.
Investigative reporter Robert Graysmith, who covered the case extensively in his 1986 book “Zodiac,” also appears, providing background and insights into Allen’s life and the details of the case.
The Zodiac Killer claimed at least five victims in the San Fransisco Bay Area and taunted the community by sending coded messages to local news outlets. At one point, the killer even threatened to bomb a school bus, heightening public fear, according to the report.
Despite naming Allen as a suspect, police were never able to gather enough evidence to make an arrest. The documentary examines the case’s twists, theories and why those closest to Allen remain convinced he was the Zodiac Killer, according to the report.
