NEW YORK — One of the four suspects arrested in what police are investigating as a potential bias attack is a New York City Police officer, Nassau County Police said Monday. Police said that officer is Juan Nuñez, 32, of Brookside Avenue, Freeport.
Nuñez was one of four men arrested Sunday following an attack outside a deli in Roosevelt. Police are looking for a fifth suspect after the group, whom they described as Hispanic men, yelled racial slurs as they attacked a black man with a baseball bats, fists and feet in front of a deli early Sunday morning.
Daryl Jackson, 52, of Roosevelt, was in stable condition Sunday at Nassau University Medical Center, where he was being treated for head, neck and back injuries.
