Photos, videos: Thanking our nation's LEOs on National First Responders Day
Today – and every day – we thank you for your continued dedication, commitment and sacrifice
By Police1 Staff
In 2019, legislation was passed to honor our nation's first responders for their everyday service and sacrifice they put forth while protecting their communities. Now every October 28, EMS providers, dispatchers, firefighters and law enforcement officers are celebrated during National First Responders Day.
Below, we have compiled a roundup of social media posts recognizing and thanking law enforcement officers around the country for their continued commitment to serve and protect. Has your department received a special "thank you" today? Or maybe you're holding an event to commemorate your officers as well as those you have lost in the line of duty? If so, send your photos or videos to editor@police1.com and we will add them to our roundup below.
From all of us at Police1.com, we thank you today – and every day – for your continued dedication, commitment and sacrifice as you protect and serve your communities.

#NationalFirstRespondersDay is observed today. We honor the men & women who run toward a crisis while the rest of the world flees. First Responders have dedicated professionals who answer the call when an emergency arises, often sacrificing their own lives to save others. pic.twitter.com/VHDid0AR5E
