Off-duty Ohio LEO assaulted, weapon stolen

The off-duty officer was in full uniform at the time of the assault

CLEVELAND — An off-duty police officer working her second job as security at a Cleveland Taco Bell was assaulted by two teenagers early Friday.

WOIO reports the off-duty officer - who was in full uniform - was escorting a customer to their car when the two males, who are believed to be between 17 and 18 years old, attacked her in the parking lot. The suspects then took her weapon and fled the scene.

The female LEO suffered from facial injuries and was taken to MetroHealth Hospital for treatment.

The first suspect was believed to be wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, a scarf mask, light grey sweatpants and black boots. The other suspect was reportedly wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt with dark pants.

No other information has been released.
