HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — A sheriff’s deputy who was found unresponsive in his patrol car Monday died of an apparent heart attack, a dispatcher said.
A gas station employee noticed a police cruiser idling and discovered an unresponsive Deputy T. Faughtenbery inside around midnight Monday, KHOU reported.

First responders broke the window to attempt to revive Faughtenbery, a 26-year veteran of the Harris County Sheriff’s Department. But he died on the scene.
According to ABC13, a dispatcher said it appears he died of a heart attack.
More than two dozen sheriff’s deputies escorted Faughtenbery to the medical examiner’s office around 3 a.m.
