QUINCY, Mass. — State Police have arrested a Medford man wanted in connection with an incident that sent a Milton police officer to the hospital with an injured hand.
Troopers from the Revere barracks arrested Michael Ritson, 31, around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday on three active warrants, including one for unarmed robbery, according to State Police. Ritson spent the night at the barracks and was arraigned in Chelsea District Court on Wednesday morning.
State Police said troopers had tried to arrest Ritson before, but he had driven off on a motorcycle before he could be taken into custody. This time, troopers waited for Ritson to park the motorcycle before moving in to arrest him, police said.
A statement released by State Police on Wednesday did not say how the Milton officer was injured. Milton police did not return messages Wednesday.
According to published reports, a Milton officer was hospitalized in June after someone drove away from a Milton Square traffic stop while her fingers were caught in the vehicle’s door. The officer was able to free herself from the vehicle but broke a finger, police said at the time.
