EAST HARTFORD, Conn. — A police officer remains in the hospital following a collision with a pickup early Wednesday.
While Officer Todd M. Lentocha, 41, recovers from the accident, his friends and family held a prayer service at St. Matthew Church Friday, The Journal Inquirer reported. Wife Alison Lentocha thanks the community for their positive thoughts and support during her husband’s recovery period.
“We would like to express our gratitude for all the love and support we have received from all of you,” Alison Lentocha said in a statement obtained by NBC Connecticut. “We ask that you continue the good thoughts and prayers for our family, as it continues to give us strength through this time.”
Lentocha was parked on the side of the road Wednesday when a pickup belonging to Robert Lucky struck the K9 vehicle, which did not have a dog in the car at the time. Lucky, 49, was uninjured.
