DERRY, N.H. — A man was fatally shot by Derry police Wednesday after storming out of his home with a shotgun and firing it at a cruiser from his own vehicle.
Derry police received a call around 8 a.m. by a woman saying her husband had driven away from their home, and he was distraught, suicidal and armed with a shotgun, according to WMUR.
As an officer approached a suspicious truck in the area, he was fired upon and returned fire, striking the man once. The officer was not hurt.
The man was taken to Parkland Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. His identity has not yet been released.
