Texas cop stabbed responding to domestic disturbance

LANCASTER, Texas — A Lancaster police officer was stabbed Wednesday afternoon as he responded to a domestic disturbance call.

The three-year veteran, whose name has not been released, shot a male inside the home in the 200 block of North Ellis Street after he was injured, said city spokeswoman Ciciely Hickmon.

The incident began about 5 p.m. when Lancaster officers arrived at the home in response to a domestic call. Officers were unable to make contact with anyone inside, and they broke down the door.

The officer’s injuries are not believed to be life threatening. No information has been released about the other man’s injuries.
