WESLACO, Texas — Weslaco police are looking for a man who sped off from a traffic stop Sunday with officers hanging on to his truck.
Officers in Weslaco received reports of a man, identified Monday as 28-year-old Adan Loa Jr., asleep behind the wheel of a vehicle at the intersection of Mile 5 North and FM 88, police said.
According to police officials, Loa refused to turn his vehicle off and fled in his pickup.
A video shared by the police department shows a Ford F-150 apparently trapped between two police cars. It then pushes a police car out of the way while speeding off with three officers hanging from the side of the vehicle.
One of the officers was injured, according to police.
After police identified Loa as their suspect, they discovered he has active warrants for burglary, family violence and evading arrest. He is also now wanted for aggravated assault of a peace officer in connection with Sunday’s incident.
Anyone with information on Loa is asked to call Weslaco police at 956-968-8591 or Weslaco Crime Stoppers at 956-968-8477.
