Woman shoots, kills Ind. cop’s attacker

A struggle between the officer and Justin Holland, 32, ensued shortly after the officer arrived on scene

RISING SUN, Ind. – A woman came to the aid of an Indiana officer who was struggling with a suspect.

According to the Courier-Journal, the state conservation officer responded to a suspicious person call Monday when the incident occurred.

A struggle between the officer and Justin Holland, 32, ensued shortly after the officer arrived on scene.

As the officer was “being overtaken by Holland,” the woman fired one round from her personal firearm and struck the suspect in the torso.

Holland was later pronounced dead at a hospital. The officer was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The identities of both the officer and the woman are being withheld as Indiana State Police conduct an investigation into the incident.
