BUSHWICK, N.Y. — A man was arrested Saturday afternoon after spending an hour outside the Bushwick police station snapping photos while simultaneously filming.

Shawn Randall Thomas, 47, was arrested and charged on two counts of disorderly conduct: obscene language and blocking the driveway of the station, according to DNA Info.

An officer who identified himself as Officer Soto asked for the man to stop taking pictures before the confrontation began.

“You’re making a lot of people feel very uncomfortable,” the officer said. “How do I know you’re not a terrorist taking pictures so you can figure out where you’re going to put a bomb?”

Thomas filed a complaint with Brooklyn District Attorney’s Civil Rights Bureau claiming he had been harassed by the officer, who stayed at Thomas’ side throughout the encounter.

Thomas told a photography website that he was taking photos to prepare for an upcoming trial stemming from an arrest in January.
