RUIDOSO, N.M. — Newly released dash cam video shows New Mexico police tackle a man after he was stopped for speeding and refused to comply with police.
State cop Corey Crayton stopped Dr. Ray Seidel in September for driving 69 mph in a 55 mph zone, according to KOB.
The officer approached the passenger side door, which prompted Seidel’s wife to panic and yell, “Don’t open the door!”
Seidel exited the vehicle to approach the officer. Off camera, Crayton allegedly drew his handgun and demanded that Seidel, who had a handgun in his waistband, drop his weapon.
Seidel, who openly admits that he’s firmly against the government and doesn’t pay taxes in protest of the IRS, walked back to the driver’s side of his car and called 911, according to the report.
Ruidoso Police and Lincoln County Sheriff’s deputies arrived at the scene and Seidel crossed his arms, refusing to be arrested. Crayton bear hugged him in order to subdue him and he was arrested.
Seidel has filed a lawsuit against state police.
