VANCOUVER – An officer received high praise on social media after braving icy waters to save a dog.
According to CBC News, police were called to the scene Friday after a resident reported the dog had chased a ball onto thin ice and fallen through into the water.
Taking hold of a rescue rope, Officer Peter Colenutt removed portions of his uniform and went after the dog, who was struggling to stay above water.
Both the officer and the dog made it to shore without injury. Photos of the dramatic rescue quickly went viral on social media.
