CHINO, Calif. — With last week’s approval by the City Council, the department is able to purchase 100 on-officer video cameras. The cameras are expected to enhance customer service, reduce false complaints and provide officers with the tools to increase safety and productivity.
The Taser Axon Flex camera — which is the size of a tube of lipstick — has a lens view of 71 degrees, multiple mounting options, up to 13 hours of recording capabilities and a 12-hour battery life. It also has 30-seconds pre-event recording ability.
After two years of testing and evaluating on-officer video systems, the department decided that Taser’s camera and Evidence.com media storage solutions, which maintains the data base to archive or store the videos, best meets its needs.
