FARGO, ND — The Fargo Police Department is starting a television campaign aimed at drivers who text while operating a vehicle.
Police Chief Keith Ternes said it will run through early March and be paid with $8,000 from the department’s crime prevention budget.
The TV spot shows a driver texting as a boy chases a ball onto the street in front of the vehicle.
Ternes said police don’t know how many crashes or citations are linked to texting.
