EAST POINT, Ga. — Authorities say an 8-year-old boy was gravely injured in a crash that involved a stolen car and a police chase in Fulton County.
East Point police Capt. Cliff Chandler tells The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that a 21-year-old woman stole a car at an Atlanta gas station early Monday.
Chandler says East Point officers spotted the car Monday afternoon and began following it. He said she tried to speed away and crashed into a car carrying five people, including the boy.
Four other victims — two other children and two adults — were hospitalized with injuries that were not life threatening.
Chandler told The Associated Press that the boy was on life-support Tuesday morning at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta.
Chandler said the woman faces charges that include car-jacking and fleeing from police.
