Officer Down: Detective Sandra Joye Bullock

BUSHNELL, Fla. — A Bushnell police officer was killed in a head-on car crash while on duty last night.
Detective Sandra Joyce Bullock, 59, was traveling north on SR-471, just north of CR-476 E, at about 5:55 p.m. yesterday when an oncoming Jeep attempted to pass a car in front of it and moved into her lane, according to a Florida Highway Patrol report.
Bullock tried to avoid the Jeep, but collided with it, the report said.
Bullock was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Jeep, Matthew Isaacs, 24, and his passenger, Desire Cooper, 18, sustained minor injuries, the report said.
Bullock was on duty and was driving an unmarked Bushnell police car at the time of the crash. The crash’s cause remains under investigation.
