VALLEJO, Calif. — A California Highway Patrol officer suffered minor injuries when a vehicle hit his parked patrol car on westbound
Interstate 80 at Lynch Canyon Road, the agency reported.
Two lanes of westbound I-80 were closed for about three hours following the 8:30 a.m. crash, and traffic diverted around
the accident.
The CHP officer had just cleared some debris and was back in his vehicle when the collision occurred.
The CHP said the driver of a Honda in the right-hand lane cut into the path of a Chrysler in the left-hand lane. The
collision of these two cars caused Honda to hit the back of the patrol car.
The officer was taken to North Bay Medical Center for treatment. The drivers of the Honda and Chrysler were unhurt.
