MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The video of Officer Brian Falatko carrying Veronica Yates from her car by her pants garnered plenty of attention last week, and now local media is raising questions about conflicting accounts surrounding what preceded the video.
In advance of Yates first court appearance on assault charges, WREG Memphis has run a report referencing “witnesses” who contradict the police report, which states that Yates hit Officer Falatko with her car, knocking him to the pavement.
At least one witness statement on the news station’s site backs up that account, saying ‘I was there and she hit him flat out! The officer stopped her because of pedestrians (like me) walking across the street.’
