Tenn. officers injured, cruiser totaled after vehicle slams through crash scene

Two Memphis Police officers were investigating a hit-and-run crash when another car struck them; they were taken to the hospital in non-critical condition

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Memphis Police squad car was struck by another vehicle while officers were investigating a crash, leaving the cruiser totaled and officers injured, ABC 24 reported.

The incident occurred on Jan. 14, when officers responded to a hit-and-run crash on a highway, according to the report.

While investigating the scene, another vehicle collided with a Memphis Police car, which then struck two officers who were standing outside.

The two officers were transported to the hospital in non-critical condition, as was the driver of the vehicle that struck the cruiser, who was detained at the scene, according to the report. The driver involved in the initial hit-and-run crash was also taken to the hospital in non-critical condition.
