LITTLE ROCK - A federal judge Tuesday denied former Pine Bluff Police Chief Daniel Moses’ request to block the city from hiring his replacement and set a June 26 trial on the ex-chief’s lawsuit to be reinstated.
After an all-day hearing before U.S. District Judge Leon Holmes, Pine Bluff Mayor Carl Redus Jr. said he planned to ask the city’s Civil Service Commission to move quickly in hiring a new police chief. The commission’s next meeting is March 14.
“We need leadership in our police department and that’s what we’re trying to get,” Redus said.
