Police1 Staff Report
(LOUISVILLE, Ky.) –- Officer Natalie M. “Shelly” Cunningham, 32, has been charged with DUI after the marked, take-home vehicle she was driving off-duty was involved in an accident at 2 a.m. Saturday, authorities said.
Louisville Police spokesman, Detective Bill Keeling, told the Messenger-Inquirer that the department has suspended Cunningham.
An arrest citation stated that after Cunningham’s one-car, non-injury accident the officer “smelled of alcohol,” the newspaper reported.
The state limit on blood alcohol content is 0.80. Cunningham’s breath test showed a 0.083 percent level, the newspaper reported.
The Louisville department has a “zero-tolerance policy” concerning alcohol and city vehicles, Keeling told the newspaper.
