WELLINGTON, Fla. — An 8-year-old girl is donating her birthday money to the family of a murdered Broward County Sheriff’s Office deputy.

Instead of toys and clothes, Arden Capizola asked her friends and family to give her money this year. She has raised $1,110 and plans to donate all of it to the family of Sgt. Chris Reyka.

Reyka, 51, was looking for stolen vehicles behind a drug store when someone got out of a white car and fired at least five shots at him Aug. 10. His killer is still being sought.

The Capizola family lives in Wellington in Palm Beach County and are neighbors of the Reyka family.
