An Arizona Department of Public Safety motorcycle officer was injured Thursday afternoon in a crash on a West Valley freeway.
The driver who hit the officer fled on foot but was nabbed by two motorists at the scene, police said.
The accident happened around 2:30 p.m. at Loop 101 and the Thomas Road offramp.
Witnesses said the officer flew up over the hood of the car after he was hit. His boots, helmet and clothing laid on the ground about 10 feet from his mangled motorcycle.
