KEARNEYSVILLE, W.VA. — A West Virginia State Police trooper on his way to help in a chase was killed when his cruiser slid off W.Va. 9 and crashed late Friday, according to a press release from state police in Charles Town, W.Va.
On Friday about 11:30 p.m., Trooper Brian W. Linn’s cruiser struck a utility pole, rolled over at least once and stopped in a field about a mile west of Wiltshire Road, police said.
Linn was flown to Winchester (Va.) Medical Center. He was pronounced dead Saturday at 12:35 a.m., police said.
