RACELAND, La. — A man wanted on a 2013 second-degree battery charge was arrested after asking a deputy for a ride.
Jansen Simon was walking down a highway Sunday when he waved down the deputy, WWLTV reported. He said he was traveling with friends who left him on the side of the road.
The deputy ran Simon’s name and took him into custody. He was booked on an aggravated second-degree battery charge and two counts of contempt of court.
Officials said Simon allegedly hit a man with a hammer outside a bar in 2013. The man suffered a fractured skull.
