GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Body cam footage captured a bizarre interaction at a police station between cops and an apparently intoxicated FBI agent shortly after the agent’s partner was arrested.

According to WOOD-TV, Agent John Salazar arrived at the Grand Rapids Police Department a few hours after his partner, Agent Ruben Hernandez, was arrested for shooting at an officer outside of a Planet Fitness.

In the video, Salazar refuses to answer questions about his partner. Officers can be heard whispering to each other about his bizarre behavior.

Salazar and Hernandez both drank heavily on the night of the shooting, according to the report. At some point, the pair got separated, and Hernandez was arrested. No one was injured in the shooting. The FBI later fired Hernandez, and he will be sentenced for the attack next month.

Salazar has not faced any charges for the incident at the police station. A prosecutor told WOOD-TV that there wasn’t enough evidence to charge the agent for possession of a firearm while intoxicated. It is unclear if the emergence of video capturing the incident will lead to the case being reopened. The prosecutor was unaware of the footage, telling the news station that his understanding of GRPD policy is that body cameras are not supposed to be turned on inside the station.
