YAVAPAI COUNTY, Ariz. — A suspected DUI driver was arrested after Arizona deputies say they found him with his finger stuck in a can of White Claw.

Deputies got a call about a possible DUI driver Saturday, Nov. 23 , the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office said in a Nov. 27 Facebook post.

A deputy was in search of the car and driving into Skull Valley when he spotted a car driving in the opposite direction swerve off the road, the sheriff’s office said.

The car hit a guardrail and blocked the roadway, deputies said.

When the deputy approached the car, the driver “was trying to get his finger out of a White Claw can,” the sheriff’s office said.

After the officer approaches, a few seconds pass before the driver rolls down the window, body camera footage shared by the sheriff’s office shows.

The driver fidgets with a can of hard seltzer on his right hand, the video shows.

“What you got on your finger there?” the officer can be heard saying.

“Uhh…” the driver says.

“White Claw,” the officer interjects. “So, what’s going on. You OK?”

“I’m totally perfect,” the driver says.

The driver was arrested and charged with multiple DUI counts and criminal damage against Yavapai County public works, deputies said.

“It was very fortunate that no one was hurt or killed by this driver,” deputies said. “If you see a possible DUI driver, don’t hesitate to call the Sheriff’s Office.”

Skull Valley is about a 115-mile drive southeast from Phoenix.
